The VALUE COLLECTION R50000201 is a No. 6 sheet metal screw designed for fastening light-gauge sheet metal, thin-gauge steel components, and similar materials in HVAC, electrical, and light fabrication applications. The hex washer head provides a built-in bearing surface that distributes clamping load without a separate washer. The slotted drive accommodates a standard flat-blade screwdriver or bit. At 1 inch in length measured under the head, this screw is suited for thin-panel and duct-collar connections. Grade 2 steel construction with a zinc finish provides corrosion resistance in typical indoor installations.
This screw is used in residential and light commercial HVAC ductwork assembly, electrical enclosure fabrication, and general sheet metal work. The Type AB point — a spaced-thread, gimlet-point design — allows the screw to self-tap into pre-punched or pre-drilled holes in thin sheet metal without requiring a tapped mating hole. Typical installers include HVAC technicians assembling duct sections, electricians securing sheet metal enclosures, and general sheet metal fabricators.
Designed as a general-purpose No. 6 Type AB sheet metal screw for use in light-gauge steel panels, HVAC duct components, electrical enclosures, and similar thin-material fastening applications where a hex washer head and slotted drive are required.
Installation is performed by HVAC technicians, electricians, and sheet metal workers using a flat-blade screwdriver or a slotted hex-head power bit. Ensure the receiving material is within the rated gauge range for a No. 6 Type AB screw before driving. Do not overdrive — the hex washer head is designed to seat flush, and excess torque will strip the thread engagement in thin-gauge material. De-energize any electrical enclosure or HVAC unit before fastening panels or access covers.
