The VALUE COLLECTION PB--20565-6 is a round, double-cut American-pattern file designed for general metalworking and finishing tasks. With a 6-inch file length and a 7/32-inch diameter, this bastard-cut file removes material efficiently while still leaving a workable surface finish. The double-cut tooth pattern uses two opposing sets of diagonal rows, which bite aggressively into ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It includes a tang end for use with a standard file handle. This tool is suited for deburring, shaping, and enlarging holes or rounded profiles in metal stock.
This file is commonly used in maintenance, repair, and fabrication settings where a small-diameter round profile is needed to work inside drilled holes, curved slots, or pipe ends. It is a standard bench-file size found in HVAC shops, plumbing trade vans, electrical fabrication benches, and general machine shops. The bastard cut makes it appropriate for medium stock removal rather than fine finishing work.
Designed as a standard American-pattern round file for general metalworking, deburring, and shaping applications across trade and fabrication environments.
Always fit a handle onto the tang before use to prevent hand injury from the exposed point. Work the file in smooth, forward strokes with consistent pressure, lifting on the return stroke to preserve tooth life. When filing inside holes or tight profiles, keep fingers clear of the workpiece edges. Secure the workpiece in a vise before filing to maintain control and prevent slipping.
