The VALUE COLLECTION NG09025 is a galvanized steel pipe nipple designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping systems. At 2 inches nominal pipe size and 2.5 inches in length, this close nipple fits where space is limited but a full Schedule 40 wall thickness is required. Both ends are threaded to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 standards, allowing direct connection to fittings, valves, or equipment ports. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for wet or exposed installations. Plumbers and pipefitters install this nipple as part of gas, water, and steam distribution systems where Schedule 40 carbon steel construction is specified.
This pipe nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and mechanical piping applications. Its 2-inch nominal size makes it a common working size in supply mains, boiler connections, and equipment hook-ups. The galvanized exterior is appropriate for above-ground water service, venting, and general-purpose pipe runs where ferrous fittings are standard practice. Threaded-on-both-ends construction allows tool-only assembly without welding or special equipment, making it practical for service work and retrofit installations.
Designed as a standard NPT-threaded Schedule 40 galvanized pipe nipple compatible with 2-inch NPT fittings, valves, and threaded pipe connections in residential and commercial mechanical systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and IPC or IFGC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembly or installation. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to NPT threads before making up the joint, and tighten with pipe wrenches to achieve a leak-free connection without over-stressing the fitting. This nipple is not rated for lead-free potable water compliance — verify suitability against local code requirements before installing in drinking water service.
