The VALUE COLLECTION NG08040 is a galvanized steel pipe nipple designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping systems. Measuring 1-1/2 inches in nominal pipe size and 4 inches in length, this Schedule 40 nipple is threaded on both ends to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 standards, ensuring reliable engagement with standard NPT fittings and valves. The galvanized steel construction provides corrosion resistance in wet and exposed service environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on water supply, gas distribution, or steam lines will find this a straightforward close-to-medium-length nipple for connecting valves, unions, tees, and other threaded components.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a 1-1/2 inch threaded connection is required. Typical installations include water supply risers, boiler piping, gas-line branch connections, and compressed-air distribution headers. It meets ASTM A53, ASTM A106, and ASTM A733 material standards along with several international standards, making it appropriate for projects requiring documented material conformance. Each unit is sold individually and is stocked for single-piece purchasing without a multi-unit requirement.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or new-installation component compatible with 1-1/2 inch NPT threaded fittings, valves, and couplings used in Schedule 40 steel piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with the applicable plumbing code, such as the IPC or IFGC depending on the service. Shut off and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded component. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus the number of turns specified by your applicable code or fitting manufacturer. Do not over-tighten, as this can crack cast fittings or damage threads.
