The sleeve expands behind the wall surface as the screw is driven, creating a secure grip in hollow cavities. It accepts a 7/16 inch screw and accommodates wall thickness from 5/8 inch to 1-3/16 inches. The anchor body measures 1/4 inch in diameter with an overall length of 2.5 inches. A zinc plated finish provides basic corrosion resistance for interior installations. General contractors, finish carpenters, and handymen routinely install these when attaching fixtures, brackets, or hardware to gypsum board walls.
