The VALUE COLLECTION MT3290792 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting applications. Built from submicron-grade carbide, this single-end tool features a 5/16 inch diameter with a matching 5/16 inch shank, a 13/16 inch length of cut, and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life during high-speed or dry machining. Machinists and toolroom professionals install this style of end mill in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for production and job-shop environments where tight tolerances and consistent surface finishes are required. The four-flute configuration provides a balance between chip clearance and surface finish quality, making it appropriate for finishing passes and light-to-moderate material removal on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar alloys. The centercutting design allows for plunge entry into the workpiece, adding versatility to tool paths. It ships as a single-piece unit with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as a standard-geometry replacement or production end mill fitting any CNC machining center or manual mill equipped with a collet or end mill holder accepting a 5/16 inch straight shank.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or locked-out state per applicable machine guarding and OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use. Do not exceed the spindle speed and feed rate parameters established for this diameter and material combination in the machinist reference or machine tool documentation.
