The VALUE COLLECTION MT3290092 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It measures 5/16 inches in diameter with a matching 5/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank and a 2-flute spiral geometry. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the submicron carbide grade delivers hardness and wear resistance across a range of materials. An overall length of 2.5 inches and a 13/16 inch length of cut make this tool suitable for standard depth slotting and profiling applications. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals, this end mill ships bright/uncoated and ready for immediate use.
This end mill is suited for side milling, slotting, and profiling in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, giving operators flexibility in programming tool paths. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction conform to conventional spindle rotation standards found on most vertical machining centers. The 2-flute configuration is well matched to softer metals and non-ferrous materials where chip clearance is a priority, though submicron carbide construction also supports harder workpiece materials at appropriate feeds and speeds.
Designed as a standard straight-shank solid carbide square end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and similar toolholding systems accepting a 5/16 inch shank diameter on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols and equipment manufacturer guidelines. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring adequate engagement depth per the toolholder specification. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing or adjusting tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended runout tolerance, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
