The VALUE COLLECTION MT3258032 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and hard plastics. With a 0.5-inch cutting diameter and a 1-inch length of cut, this tool removes material cleanly in peripheral and slot milling applications. The 2-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle provides efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. Manufactured from submicron-grade carbide, the tool holds tight tolerances over repeated use. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose ferrous and non-ferrous machining where coating adhesion or heat buildup is not a primary concern. A licensed machinist or CNC setup technician is the typical end user.
This end mill is suited for job shops, production floors, and toolroom environments running vertical or horizontal machining centers, knee mills, or CNC routers. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional side milling. The 0.5-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders common across most machine tool platforms. It is appropriate for slotting, profiling, contouring, and pocket milling where a 2-flute geometry is preferred for chip clearance over higher flute counts.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock end mill for standard 0.5-inch tool holders including ER collet chucks and end mill arbors used in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC routers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Power down the spindle and engage the machine lock before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Avoid overtightening set screws on Weldon holders, which can damage the shank and affect concentricity.
