The VALUE COLLECTION MSTX05060-050BX is a metric machine screw with a truss head and slotted drive, manufactured from Grade 18-8 (A2) stainless steel with a bright, uncoated finish. The truss head profile sits low and wide, distributing clamping load over a larger bearing surface than a standard pan head. Thread size is M5x0.8 and the length under head is 60 mm. These fasteners conform to NFE 27128, the French metric fastener standard. They are sold in a minimum order quantity of 50 pieces per box. Machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians install these in applications where corrosion resistance and a low-profile head are required.
These screws are suited for light to medium-duty assemblies in wet, marine, food-service, or outdoor environments where 18-8 stainless steel provides adequate corrosion resistance. The slotted drive makes them compatible with standard flat-blade screwdrivers and slotted bits. Typical applications include panel attachment, equipment enclosures, electrical junction boxes, and general metal fabrication. The truss head geometry is particularly useful where a countersunk or hex head would protrude excessively or snag adjacent components.
Designed as a metric replacement or direct-fit fastener for applications requiring an M5x0.8 truss head slotted screw per NFE 27128. Fits any tapped or through-hole application dimensioned for M5x0.8 metric thread with a 60 mm length under head.
Install using a flat-blade screwdriver or slotted driver bit sized to match the screw head slot to avoid cam-out and head damage. Ensure mating threads or tapped holes are clean and free of debris before installation. Do not over-torque stainless steel fasteners, as 18-8 alloys are susceptible to galling; applying an appropriate anti-seize compound to the threads is standard practice in many trades. Power down or de-energize any assembly before inserting fasteners near live electrical components.
