The VALUE COLLECTION MSTX05040-050BX is a metric machine screw with a truss head and slotted drive, manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel with a bright, uncoated finish. The truss head profile sits low and wide, distributing clamping load over a larger bearing surface than a standard pan or round head. At M5x0.8 thread pitch and 40mm length under head, this fastener suits a range of light structural and panel-fastening applications. Stainless steel grade 18-8 (A2) provides corrosion resistance suitable for general indoor and outdoor service. Sold in a minimum order quantity of 50 pieces per box. Conforms to fastener standard NFE 27128.
This screw is suited for use in fabrication, electrical enclosure assembly, HVAC equipment panels, and general mechanical assemblies where a metric M5 fastener is specified. The slotted drive is compatible with standard flathead screwdrivers and slotted power-drive bits. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate where galvanic compatibility with stainless hardware is required or where post-installation treatment is planned. Installers working in panel assembly or equipment manufacturing will find this size common in metric-spec equipment sourced to NFE 27128 standards.
Designed as an OEM-style metric replacement fastener for assemblies requiring an M5x0.8 truss head slotted screw conforming to NFE 27128.
Install and remove using a correctly sized flathead screwdriver or slotted power-drive bit to avoid cam-out and drive slot damage. De-energize and lock out any electrical equipment before replacing fasteners on energized enclosures or panels. When threading into aluminum or other dissimilar metals, apply an appropriate anti-seize compound to reduce galling, which is a known risk with stainless steel fasteners. Follow applicable equipment manufacturer torque guidance for M5 fasteners in the assembly being serviced.
