The VALUE COLLECTION MSFX02004-100BX is an M2x0.4 flat head slotted machine screw made from 18-8 stainless steel with a bright, uncoated finish. Conforming to DIN 963, this metric fastener features a countersunk flat head and a slotted drive, making it a standard choice for precision assemblies, enclosures, and light mechanical applications. The overall length is 4 millimeters with a corresponding 4-millimeter length under head. Sold in a box of 100, this SKU is suited for trade shops, maintenance crews, and assembly operations that require consistent metric hardware in corrosion-resistant stainless.
This screw is used across a wide range of light-duty fastening applications where a flush, countersunk head profile is required. Typical installations include electrical enclosures, panel assemblies, instrumentation housings, and HVAC control board mounting where metric hardware is specified. The 18-8 stainless steel construction provides solid corrosion resistance in both indoor and moderately exposed outdoor environments. The DIN 963 standard ensures dimensional consistency for use in metric-spec equipment and machinery.
Designed as a standard DIN 963 metric machine screw for use in any M2x0.4 tapped hole requiring a flat countersunk head and slotted drive. Compatible with equipment, assemblies, and enclosures specifying 18-8 or A2 stainless steel metric fasteners.
Installation requires a tapped or pre-threaded M2x0.4 hole and a standard flat-blade screwdriver sized appropriately for the slotted head. Ensure the mating material is countersunk to the correct angle to achieve a proper flush seat with the flat head profile. Do not overtighten — M2 screws have low cross-sectional area and are susceptible to thread stripping if excessive torque is applied. Stainless fasteners can be prone to galling; use anti-seize compound when threading into stainless tapped holes.
