The VALUE COLLECTION MSFI03700870-050BX is a 3/8-16 UNC machine screw with a flat head and slotted drive, manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc-plated finish. It measures 7/8 inches in overall length, with the full 7/8 inches measured from under the head. The zinc plating provides basic corrosion resistance for general-purpose fastening applications. Grade 2 steel delivers adequate strength for light-duty mechanical and structural assembly tasks. Electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and general contractors reach for this screw type when securing panels, brackets, equipment housings, and fixtures where a flush-mounted head is required.
This screw is suited for residential and commercial applications wherever a countersunk, flush-finish fastener is called for. The flat head profile seats flush with or below the mating surface, making it common in equipment enclosures, electrical panels, sheet metal work, and general mechanical assemblies. The slotted drive accepts a standard flat-blade screwdriver, keeping installation tooling requirements minimal. The 3/8-16 thread is a coarse Unified National Coarse designation, compatible with standard tapped holes and threaded inserts of the same specification. This package contains 50 screws.
Designed for use in any standard 3/8-16 UNC tapped hole or threaded insert requiring a flat-head, slotted fastener in inch measurements.
Install with a flat-blade screwdriver sized to match the slot width; an undersized or oversized blade risks cam-out and fastener damage. When threading into metal, verify that the receiving hole is tapped to 3/8-16 UNC before installation. Apply appropriate thread-locking compound or lock washer when vibration is a concern, as a slotted flat-head screw without secondary retention can back out over time. Power down or de-energize any equipment before fastening screws on or near electrical enclosures, per applicable NEC guidelines.
