The VALUE COLLECTION MSCX03012-050BX is a metric machine screw with a fillister head and slotted drive, manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel to DIN 84 dimensional standards. The fillister head profile features a relatively tall, cylindrical head with a flat bearing surface, making it well suited for applications where head height and a defined clamping zone matter. At M3x0.5 thread size with 12 mm of length under the head, this screw fits a wide range of light-duty mechanical assemblies. The bright, uncoated finish preserves the natural corrosion resistance of 18-8 (A2) stainless steel without added plating. This package contains 50 pieces per order.
These screws are used in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation assemblies where a metric fastener and corrosion resistance are both required. Typical applications include panel mounting, light sheet-metal work, enclosure assembly, and equipment fabrication in environments where moisture exposure makes stainless steel preferable to carbon steel. Machinists, assemblers, and maintenance technicians working to metric standards will find this screw appropriate for low-torque, fine-thread fastening tasks.
Designed as a DIN 84 standard metric machine screw for use in M3x0.5 tapped holes and with M3 hex nuts or coupling nuts across general mechanical and electrical assemblies.
Install with a standard flat-blade screwdriver sized to match the slotted head recess to avoid cam-out and head damage. Ensure the receiving hole is properly tapped to M3x0.5 before driving to prevent thread galling, which is a risk with stainless-to-stainless contact. Apply a small amount of anti-galling compound when threading into stainless or aluminum tapped holes to prevent seizing. Do not exceed the torque appropriate for M3 stainless fasteners, as over-tightening can shear the head or strip threads.
