The VALUE COLLECTION MSC-67571083 is a 4-40 UNC machine screw designed for precision fastening applications where corrosion resistance and reliable thread engagement are required. Measuring 3/4 inches in length under the head, this pan head Phillips drive fastener is manufactured from Grade 18-8 stainless steel with a bright, uncoated finish. The pan head profile provides a low-profile, wide bearing surface well suited to sheet metal, electronics enclosures, and light mechanical assemblies. It is installed by technicians and assemblers working in environments where ferrous hardware is not acceptable.
This screw is suited for light-duty mechanical, electrical, and electronic assembly work. The 4-40 thread designation is one of the most common small-diameter unified coarse thread (UNC) standards in North American trade and OEM manufacturing. It is widely used in control panel fabrication, instrumentation mounting, HVAC control board enclosures, and electrical junction box work where small-diameter stainless fasteners are specified. The Phillips drive is compatible with standard No. 1 Phillips screwdrivers and power bit drivers.
Designed as a standard UNC fastener compatible with any 4-40 tapped hole or 4-40 threaded insert per ASME B1.1 specifications.
Install using a No. 1 Phillips screwdriver or matching power driver bit to avoid cam-out and head damage. De-energize any electrical assembly before fastening or removing hardware in live enclosures. Apply thread-locking compound only if specified by the assembly drawing, as it may interfere with disassembly during service. Do not overtighten into plastic or thin sheet metal; use a torque-limiting driver when the substrate material requires it.
