The VALUE COLLECTION MSC-62146782 is a 2-inch malleable iron 90-degree pipe elbow fitting designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial gas distribution systems. Constructed from Class 150 malleable iron with a galvanized finish coating, this elbow provides a corrosion-resistant connection point where a right-angle directional change is required. It is rated for liquid and gas service at 300 psi and steam service at 150 psi. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC mechanics install this type of fitting in both new construction and retrofit piping work requiring reliable, pressure-rated threaded connections.
This 90-degree elbow is suited for residential and light commercial piping applications involving water, gas, and steam distribution. The galvanized finish makes it appropriate for exposed or semi-exposed installations where mild corrosion resistance is needed. Typical install scenarios include natural gas supply lines, hydronic heating distribution piping, compressed air systems, and general-purpose liquid transfer lines where a threaded right-angle turn is required. The Class 150 designation aligns with standard NPT-threaded malleable iron fittings used across plumbing and mechanical systems.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded replacement fitting for standard 2-inch NPT malleable iron pipe systems in residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC, and gas distribution applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes, the International Plumbing Code (IPC), or the International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) as appropriate to the service. Shut off and depressurize the supply line completely before removing any existing fitting or threading in the new elbow. Apply an approved pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to all male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten threaded connections, as malleable iron fittings can crack under excessive torque.
