The plug chamfer, spanning approximately 3 to 5 threads, suits general-purpose tapping in a range of materials including mild steel, aluminum, and plastics. With an overall length of 1-13/16 inches and a thread length of 1/2 inch, it fits standard tap holders and drive adapters used in manual and machine tapping operations. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians are the primary users of this tap.
This tap is suited for threading small-diameter fastener holes in light manufacturing, repair, and maintenance applications. Back the tap out periodically to break and clear chips, preventing tap breakage in small-diameter holes.
