The VALUE COLLECTION MPPI02500500-100BX is a 1/4-20 x 1/2 inch pan head Phillips machine screw manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc-plated finish. Sold in a box of 100, these screws follow UNC (Unified National Coarse) threading and are measured under the head at 1/2 inch. The pan head profile provides a wide, low-profile bearing surface, and the Phillips drive accepts standard Phillips bits. These fasteners are a general-purpose workhorse used across mechanical assembly, HVAC equipment panels, electrical enclosures, and light structural applications. The zinc plating provides basic corrosion resistance suitable for indoor and light-duty service environments.
These screws are suited for residential and light commercial assembly tasks where a 1/4-20 UNC threaded fastener is specified. Common applications include securing HVAC cabinet panels, electrical junction box covers, equipment mounting brackets, and general sheet metal or machined-component assembly. The pan head style works well in through-hole or clearance-hole applications where a flat seating surface is needed without a countersunk recess. Supplied in a 100-count box, the quantity is practical for service vans, shop bins, or job-site inventory.
Designed as a general-purpose 1/4-20 UNC machine screw suitable for use wherever a pan head Phillips fastener of this thread size and length is specified in equipment assembly or service work.
Installation requires a Phillips No. 2 screwdriver or bit driver. Ensure the mating hole is tapped to 1/4-20 UNC or that a compatible nut is used on the back side. Do not overtighten Grade 2 fasteners in soft materials such as aluminum or plastic, as the lower yield strength relative to higher grades makes them susceptible to thread strip-out. Power down any electrical or mechanical equipment before replacing fasteners on live panels or enclosures.
