The VALUE COLLECTION MP92276 is a standard pull out dowel pin machined from 18-8 stainless steel with a bright finish. Dowel pins are precision alignment fasteners used to locate and register mating components in jigs, fixtures, dies, and assemblies. The 1/4-inch diameter is held to a tight tolerance of 0.0002 inches, ensuring accurate, repeatable part location. The overall length is 0.75 inches. The pull-out style head allows the pin to be removed without special extraction tools, which speeds up disassembly and maintenance cycles. Machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this type of pin.
This dowel pin is suited for use in light-duty and medium-duty industrial applications where corrosion resistance is a priority. The 18-8 stainless steel construction resists oxidation and mild chemical exposure, making it appropriate for food-processing equipment, marine environments, and cleanroom tooling in addition to general manufacturing. The bright finish confirms the pin has not been heat treated or coated beyond the base material, which preserves dimensional accuracy. Sold in a package quantity of 10, this pin is appropriate for shop stock, maintenance kits, and low-volume production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard shop-stock dowel pin for fixtures, jigs, dies, and mechanical assemblies requiring a 1/4-inch diameter pull-out style locating pin.
Installation and removal of dowel pins should be performed by a machinist or qualified maintenance technician using a press or mallet and a properly sized pilot hole reamed to the appropriate tolerance. De-energize and lock out all equipment before servicing any assembly containing dowel pins. Do not force an oversized pin into an undersized hole, as this can crack bores or distort housings. Verify hole depth and pin length clearance before pressing to avoid bottoming out and cracking the mating component.
