The VALUE COLLECTION MP63859 is a flat socket cap screw designed for flush or countersunk fastening applications in mechanical assemblies, equipment enclosures, and structural components. It features a 5/32-inch hex socket drive and an 82-degree flat head profile that sits flush with or below the mating surface when properly countersunk. Manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel, this fastener provides solid corrosion resistance in wet, chemical-exposure, or outdoor environments. The 1/4-20 UNC thread size and 1-inch overall length make it a commonly specified fastener across a wide range of trade and industrial applications.
This screw is used wherever a low-profile, flush-mount fastener is required and where stainless steel material is preferred for corrosion resistance. Typical applications include HVAC equipment panels, plumbing fixture mounting, electrical enclosure assembly, pool and spa equipment frames, and general fabrication work. The inch-series UNC thread standard ensures compatibility with standard tapped holes and nuts in North American equipment. Installers in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades regularly specify this fastener type for maintenance, repair, and new assembly work.
Designed for use in standard countersunk holes sized for 1/4-20 UNC inch-series fasteners with an 82-degree countersink angle, as found in a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing assemblies.
Installation requires a 5/32-inch hex key or matching socket bit. The mating hole should be drilled and countersunk to the correct 82-degree angle before driving the screw to ensure a proper flush seating. De-energize or shut off any equipment before fastener replacement or panel reassembly. Avoid over-torquing stainless steel fasteners, as 18-8 alloy is susceptible to galling; applying an anti-galling compound or lubricant is standard practice.
