The VALUE COLLECTION MDB220 50-2 300# is a Class 300 black malleable iron threaded coupling designed for joining pipe sections in industrial and commercial piping systems. The black finish indicates this fitting is intended for gas, oil, or non-potable water applications where galvanized coatings are not required. At 2 inches in size, it accommodates standard NPT-threaded pipe and is sold in a package quantity of 2 units. This coupling meets a broad range of international and domestic standards, making it suitable for systems that require documented certification compliance. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors are the primary installers of this fitting.
This coupling is appropriate for residential and commercial gas distribution lines, fire suppression headers, compressed air systems, and other Class 300-rated piping assemblies. The threaded connection type allows for tool-only installation without welding or soldering. Certified to ABNT, EN 10242, FM, GB/T 3287, GB/T 7306.2, ISO 7/1, and cULus standards, this fitting is well-suited for projects requiring multi-standard compliance documentation. It is sold in pairs, allowing two connections to be completed per package.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2-inch threaded malleable iron pipe systems operating within Class 300 pressure requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes such as the International Plumbing Code or International Fuel Gas Code. Shut off all supply pressure and verify the line is depressurized before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly and tighten with a pipe wrench to achieve a leak-free joint. Do not over-torque malleable iron fittings, as the material is not as ductile as ductile iron or steel.
