The VALUE COLLECTION LEC3009 is a Swiss-pattern crossing needle file designed for precision material removal in tight, curved, and contoured work areas. This file features a die sinker's handle style and a needle-level precision grade, making it suited for fine detail work on metal, plastics, and similar materials. The overall length is 5.5 inches, with a 1.5-inch length of cut and a working width of 5/32 inch (approximately 0.156 inch). The crossing profile allows technicians and toolmakers to work concave surfaces, slots, and angular recesses that standard flat or half-round files cannot reach effectively.
This file is used in tool and die work, mold making, metal fabrication, and precision maintenance applications. The needle-grade cut is appropriate for finishing passes and light deburring where surface quality matters. The die sinker's handle provides a secure, controlled grip for hand filing operations. It is commonly used by machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as hard plastics.
Designed as a general-purpose Swiss-pattern needle file for use in tool and die, mold making, and precision metalworking applications where a crossing-profile file is required.
Needle files are hand tools requiring no power source or mechanical installation. Secure the workpiece in a vise or fixture before filing to maintain control and prevent injury. Apply forward cutting strokes with light, even pressure and lift the file on the return stroke to avoid dulling the teeth prematurely. Always inspect the handle for cracks or looseness before use.
