The VALUE COLLECTION KT-6200P is a set of three soft lathe chuck jaws machined from 60D steel, designed for use on manual and CNC lathes where workholding accuracy and bore-to-fit customization are required. Soft jaws are supplied in an unfinished, machinable state so the machinist can bore them to match a specific part diameter or profile, eliminating runout and protecting finished workpiece surfaces. Each jaw measures 6 inches in length and 2 inches in height, providing substantial gripping surface for medium to large diameter work. The set weighs 4.6 pounds total. These jaws are a standard consumable in production turning environments and are installed and bored by machinists or toolroom technicians.
Soft lathe chuck jaws are used in machine shops, job shops, and maintenance facilities wherever repeatable, damage-free workholding is needed on a lathe. They are particularly suited for second-operation setups, thin-walled parts, and finished or coated workpieces that would be marred by hardened jaws. The 6 inches x 2 inches profile fits chucks sized for jaws in that dimensional range. Three jaws are included per set, as is standard for three-jaw scroll chucks.
Designed as a replacement or spare set of soft jaws for three-jaw lathe chucks accepting jaws with a 6 inches x 2 inches profile. Verify chuck jaw slot dimensions and bolt pattern before installation, as chuck manufacturers vary in mounting geometry.
Soft jaw installation and boring should be performed by a qualified machinist. Before mounting or removing chuck jaws, power down the lathe and engage the spindle lock or brake per the machine manufacturer's procedure. Jaws must be bored in the chuck in which they will be used, under a light preload, to ensure concentricity. Do not exceed the chuck's rated jaw weight or jaw extension limits, as outlined in the chuck manufacturer's documentation.
