The VALUE COLLECTION KPM-214 is a standard knurl wheel designed for form knurling operations on lathes and knurling tools. It produces a male diamond pattern on workpiece surfaces, providing grip texture for handles, knobs, and similar turned parts. Made from high speed steel with a bright finish, this wheel measures 3/4 inch in diameter with a 3/8 inch face width and a 1/4 inch hole diameter. The 14 TPI circular pitch and 90-degree included tooth angle define the coarseness and geometry of the finished knurl. The 30-degree helix angle supports clean pattern formation. Machinists and tool and die technicians install this wheel as part of a knurling head or holder assembly.
The KPM-214 is suited for manual and CNC lathe applications where a diamond knurl pattern is required on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. It fits Series KP knurling holders and is commonly used in production and job-shop environments for parts requiring a grippable surface finish. The compact 3/4 inch diameter makes it appropriate for smaller-diameter workpieces and tight radial clearances on the machine.
Designed for use with Series KP knurling holders accepting a 3/4 inch diameter wheel with a 1/4 inch hole and 3/8 inch face width.
Installation is performed by a machinist mounting the wheel onto a compatible KP-series knurling holder or tool post knurler. Ensure the arbor pin or bolt is properly secured before engaging the workpiece. Apply cutting fluid during knurling to reduce heat and extend wheel life. Inspect the wheel for chipped or worn teeth before each use, as a damaged tooth pattern will produce irregular knurls.
