The VALUE COLLECTION KP88769 is an M6 x 1.00 x 6 mm cup point set screw manufactured from Grade 18-8 austenitic stainless steel, Austenitic Grade A2, and conforming to DIN 916. Set screws are fully threaded fasteners with no head that seat flush or below a surface to lock components — such as collars, pulleys, knobs, and gears — onto shafts or into threaded assemblies. The cup point geometry bites into the mating shaft surface to resist rotation and axial movement. Driven with a 3.00 mm hex key, this fastener is suited for light- to medium-duty mechanical assemblies where corrosion resistance is required. Each order unit contains 25 pieces.
These set screws are used in a wide range of industrial, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical installations wherever a headless locking fastener is needed. Common applications include securing sheaves and pulleys on fan shafts, locking collars on pump shafts, and fastening knobs or handles on valve stems. The stainless steel construction makes them appropriate for damp, wet, or mildly corrosive environments encountered in equipment rooms, mechanical closets, and outdoor enclosures. The metric M6 thread pitch and DIN 916 standard make them compatible with European and metric-spec equipment.
Designed for use in any threaded assembly requiring an M6 x 1.00 metric set screw conforming to DIN 916, including shaft collars, sheaves, couplings, and similar components with a matching M6 threaded bore.
Set screws are installed by licensed mechanics, HVAC technicians, and plumbers during equipment assembly or shaft-component adjustments. De-energize and lock out all rotating equipment before removing or installing set screws on shaft-mounted components. Use a calibrated 3.00 mm hex key and avoid using worn or undersized keys that may round the drive socket. Verify thread engagement depth and ensure the cup point seats fully on the mating shaft surface before returning equipment to service.
