The VALUE COLLECTION KP66132 is a 9/16-12 UNC hex lock nut designed to maintain fastener tension in high-vibration assemblies. It uses a distorted-thread locking style, which deforms a portion of the thread profile so the nut resists backing off without requiring a separate insert or prevailing-torque element. Manufactured from Grade C steel with a zinc-plated and waxed finish, it provides corrosion resistance and smooth installation torque. Right-hand thread direction follows standard UNC convention. Each package contains 25 nuts.
This hex lock nut is suited for mechanical, structural, and equipment assembly applications where vibration or cyclic loading could loosen a standard fastener. The distorted-thread design makes it appropriate for general industrial use, HVAC equipment mounting, plumbing fixture brackets, electrical enclosure hardware, and similar trade installations. The zinc-plated wax finish is compatible with typical interior and moderate-exposure environments. Sold in a 25-piece package, making it practical for both single-job use and shop stock replenishment.

Installation is performed with a standard hex wrench or socket set sized for 9/16-12 fasteners. Ensure mating threads are clean and free of debris before driving the nut. Because the distorted-thread profile creates prevailing torque, slightly higher installation torque is normal compared to a free-spinning nut. These nuts are intended for single-use applications; once run down and removed, the locking effectiveness may be reduced.
