The VALUE COLLECTION KP65106 is a letter E jobber-length drill bit ground from high speed steel and finished with an oxide coating for light corrosion resistance and reduced friction during cutting. It carries a standard 118-degree point angle, a spiral regular-helix flute, and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 0.25 inches in diameter — the same as the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard 1/4-inch chucks and collets. At 4 inches overall length with a 2.75-inch flute, this is a general-purpose bit suited for everyday metal, wood, and plastic drilling in production and maintenance environments. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill presses and handheld power tools.
This bit is used across light manufacturing, fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and general trade work where a letter-E (0.2500-inch decimal) hole is required. The web-thinned, tapered-web construction reduces thrust requirements at breakthrough, making it a practical choice for repetitive drilling tasks in mild steel, aluminum, brass, and thermoplastics. The oxide finish helps the cutting edges run cooler in dry or lightly lubricated applications without the added cost of TiN or TiAlN coatings.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock drill bit for any application requiring a letter E or 0.2500-inch diameter hole. Fits any drill press, mill, or handheld power tool equipped with a chuck or collet rated for a 1/4-inch straight shank.
Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before drilling into finished workpieces. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication when drilling ferrous metals to extend edge life. Ensure the workpiece is clamped securely to prevent walking at breakthrough. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace when the bit begins to require excessive feed force or produces rough hole finishes.
