The VALUE COLLECTION KP65023 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose metal drilling applications. It measures 17/64 inches (0.2656 inches decimal) in diameter with a 118-degree standard point angle and a right-hand spiral flute configuration. The bit is manufactured from high speed steel with an oxide coating that provides mild corrosion resistance and reduces friction during cutting. Overall length is 4-1/8 inches with a 2-7/8 inch flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and general fabricators use this bit for drilling steel, aluminum, and similar materials in bench or handheld drill applications.
This bit suits light to medium-duty drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and wood composites. Its general-purpose grade makes it appropriate for maintenance, repair, and operations work where a cost-effective, reliable drill bit is needed across a range of shop and field tasks. The 17/64 inch size falls within the 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch decimal range, fitting standard fractional chuck sets. No coolant-through feature is present, so conventional surface-applied cutting fluid should be used when drilling harder materials to extend tool life.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit compatible with any standard drill press, handheld power drill, or milling machine equipped with a chuck sized to accept a 17/64 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This bit is installed and removed by a licensed machinist, maintenance technician, or qualified tradesperson using a standard keyed or keyless drill chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and confirm runout is acceptable before drilling. Apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling ferrous metals to reduce heat buildup and extend bit life. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if the point or flute geometry is damaged.
