The VALUE COLLECTION KP61013 is a Grade 2 spring steel split lock washer designed for 1/2 inch screw applications. The split lock washer provides resistance to loosening caused by vibration and torque by biting into the fastener and mating surface under load. Finished with a zinc plating for basic corrosion resistance, this washer measures 0.509 to 0.523 inches inside diameter, 0.883 inches maximum outside diameter, and 0.151 inches thick. It is sold in a package of 100 pieces, making it a practical choice for bulk mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair work.
Split lock washers of this type are commonly used in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications wherever bolted connections require additional resistance to vibration-induced loosening. Typical install scenarios include equipment mounting, electrical panel assembly, plumbing fixture anchoring, and general structural fastening where a 1/2 inch fastener is specified. The zinc-plated finish offers moderate protection in dry to mildly humid environments. These washers are installed between the fastener head or nut and the bearing surface.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or new-installation split lock washer for use with 1/2 inch screws and bolts in inch-measurement fastening systems across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and light structural applications.
Split lock washers are installed by mechanics, electricians, plumbers, and general maintenance technicians as part of standard fastener assembly. Place the washer onto the fastener shank before threading into the mating surface, ensuring the split gap is properly positioned to allow the washer to bite under torque. Follow applicable torque specifications for the fastener grade and size per job requirements. Inspect washers for deformation or flattening before reuse, as a fully compressed lock washer no longer provides effective locking action.
