The VALUE COLLECTION KEPFI0250-100BX is a K-Lock hex nut with an integrated external tooth lock washer, manufactured from steel with a zinc plated finish. This one-piece fastener combines a standard hex nut with a serrated lock washer that bites into the mating surface under torque, resisting loosening caused by vibration and dynamic loads. The 1/4-28 UNF thread designation means fine thread pitch, which provides greater thread engagement per unit length compared to coarse thread equivalents. It is used by electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and general mechanical trades wherever a secure, vibration-resistant fastener is needed in a confined or panel-mount application.
This K-Lock nut is suited for light to medium-duty fastening in residential and commercial applications including electrical panel assemblies, HVAC equipment enclosures, plumbing fixture brackets, and general equipment hardware. The fine thread 1/4-28 UNF specification makes it appropriate for metal-to-metal assemblies where precise clamping force and controlled torque are priorities. The zinc plating provides a basic level of corrosion resistance suitable for interior and protected-exterior environments. Sold in a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces per box.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard hardware component for any assembly requiring a 1/4-28 UNF K-Lock nut with external tooth locking, including electrical enclosures, HVAC cabinet panels, and general mechanical equipment.
Installation is performed by electricians, HVAC technicians, or mechanical trades using a standard 7/16 inch wrench or socket. Power down all electrical equipment and de-energize panels before fastener installation or removal in electrical applications. Ensure mating threads are clean and free of debris before running the nut down to prevent cross-threading. Do not reuse K-Lock nuts after removal, as the lock washer teeth may be deformed and locking effectiveness reduced.
