Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers reliable thread-cutting performance in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The bottoming chamfer — with only 1 to 2 lead threads — allows threading to within a very short distance of the bottom of a blind hole. With 4 flutes and a D6 thread limit, this tap suits general-purpose production and maintenance tapping where close thread tolerance is required. Overall length is 4 inches with a thread length of 1.5 inches.
