The VALUE COLLECTION JY4842217 is a straight flute tap designed to cut internal threads in pre-drilled holes. Built from high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, this tap produces 3/8-20 UNS right-hand threads to a 3B class of fit with an H3 thread limit. The bottoming chamfer style allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole, making it well suited for applications where full thread depth is required near the base of the hole. With 4 flutes, this tap provides good chip clearance and consistent thread form in a range of machinable materials. Overall length is 2-15/16 inches.
