The VALUE COLLECTION ICR39430E is a solid carbide, uncoated round turning insert engineered for precision metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. Designated ANSI insert code RD12 and ISO insert code RD12, this insert features a round shape (style R) with a 3/4 inch inscribed circle and a 0.1875 inch thickness. The Manufacturer Grade I22 carbide substrate is uncoated (bright finish), offering a sharp, low-friction cutting edge suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes. Screw-clamped holding method provides rigid, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders. The positive side clearance geometry reduces cutting forces and supports clean chip evacuation on a range of workpiece materials.
This insert is intended for turning operations on cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, and S. It is suited for use in production machine shops, aerospace component work, and general-purpose turning where an uncoated carbide insert with a round profile is required. Each package contains one insert, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers and end users of this tooling item.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for ANSI RD12 and ISO RD12 round turning insert seats in compatible screw-clamp toolholders accepting a 3/4 inch inscribed circle, 0.1875 inch thick insert with a 0.2000 inch hole diameter.
Installation of turning inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for debris or wear before seating a new insert. Confirm correct insert orientation and seating before resuming cutting operations.
