The VALUE COLLECTION ICP76410M is a DCMT-style solid carbide turning insert with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating and a manufacturer grade of TCN55. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. The positive side clearance and screw-held mounting make it compatible with standard DCMT toolholders. This insert is intended for use in CNC lathe and turning center applications where consistent chip control and wear resistance are required. Machinists and tool-room technicians are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for general turning operations on a range of workpiece materials, including steel and stainless steel classifications consistent with the P and M material grade codes. The ANSI insert code is DCMT32.51 and the ISO equivalent is DCMT11T304, allowing straightforward cross-reference when selecting compatible toolholders. It is appropriate for both light finishing and moderate roughing passes depending on feed and speed parameters set by the operator. The insert thickness is 5/32 inch (0.1563 inch decimal), and the hole diameter is 0.1730 inch for screw clamping.
Designed for use in DCMT-style screw-clamp toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert with a 0.1730-inch hole diameter. Compatible toolholders should be rated for positive-clearance DCMT geometry inserts.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered down and locked out before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw to clamp the insert without overtightening, which can crack the carbide body. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Index or replace the insert at the first sign of chipping, built-up edge, or surface finish degradation on the workpiece.
