The VALUE COLLECTION ICP65070D is a solid carbide turning insert designed for use on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Cataloged under ANSI insert code TCMT32.53 and ISO insert code TCMT16T312, this triangular insert carries a 60-degree included angle with a positive side clearance geometry. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inches (0.375 inches) and the insert thickness is 5/32 inches (0.1563 inches). A 3/64-inch (0.0469 inches) corner radius balances edge strength with surface finish quality. The TCN55 manufacturer grade targets steel and stainless steel workpiece materials. Screw-type holding secures the insert in the pocket. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
This insert is suited for general turning operations on steel and stainless workpiece materials, corresponding to primary workpiece material codes M and P. Typical applications include external turning, facing, and light profiling passes. The TCMT insert style with positive clearance geometry reduces cutting forces, making it appropriate for moderate to long overhangs and slender workpieces where chatter control matters. Machinists and tool crib technicians working in production shops, job shops, and maintenance machining environments will find this insert compatible with standard TCMT-style toolholders.
Designed as a replacement-style turning insert for standard TCMT-style screw-on toolholders accepting a triangular insert with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 0.173-inch hole diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom personnel during tool change or insert indexing. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the insert pocket. Use the correct Torx or hex key to loosen the clamp screw, seat the insert fully against the pocket walls and locating pin, then torque the screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert seating and cutting edge condition before returning the machine to operation.
