The VALUE COLLECTION ICP23051L is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in indexable milling cutters and toolholders. Manufactured to the SD322P ISO designation, this square-shaped insert features a TiN (titanium nitride) coating and an 11-degree relief angle, making it suited for general-purpose milling applications requiring a balance of edge strength and chip clearance. The ICP55M grade designation indicates a C5 material grade carbide substrate. The insert measures 3/8 inch inscribed circle diameter and 1/8 inch thick, with a 1/32-inch corner radius and a 0.158-inch hole diameter for positive clamping in compatible toolholders. A P-style chip breaker is integrated into the insert geometry. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers and end users.
This insert is appropriate for milling operations on ferrous metals and similar workpiece materials consistent with C5 carbide grade application ranges. The SD322P style is a common indexable insert format used in face mills, end mills, and shoulder mills configured for square inserts with 90-degree included angle geometry. The P chip breaker designation targets steel and similar materials in production milling environments. This insert is sold individually and requires a minimum order of 10 units.
Designed for use in indexable milling toolholders and cutters that accept SD322P-style square carbide inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 0.158-inch mounting hole diameter.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications for the clamping screw. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before installation. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended depth of cut or feed rate for this insert style. Inspect the insert for chipping or wear at regular intervals and index or replace as needed.
