The VALUE COLLECTION ICP-26410E is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It carries the ANSI insert code SNMG432 and ISO insert code SNMG120408, with a 90-degree square shape and a negative side clearance angle. The insert is coated with aluminum oxide (Al2O3), grade ICP22, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection during interrupted and continuous turning cuts. With a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 3/16-inch thickness, it is suited to medium-duty turning applications where dimensional stability and edge retention are priorities. Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians using compatible SNMG-style toolholders with clamp and pin holding systems.
This insert is applied in turning operations targeting workpiece material groups K (cast iron) and N (non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, and brass alloys), as classified under ISO primary workpiece material codes. It is appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes where a 1/32-inch corner radius delivers a balance between surface finish quality and edge strength. The G-style chip breaker geometry assists in chip control during these operations. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.
Designed for use in SNMG-style turning toolholders that accept a 432 size insert with clamp and pin holding. Suitable for machining ISO material groups K (cast iron) and N (non-ferrous metals) as indicated by the primary workpiece material codes in the insert specification.
Turning insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and all motion axes locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to release the clamp screw before removing the worn insert. Seat the new insert fully and evenly in the toolholder pocket before re-engaging the clamp and pin. Verify insert seating and tool offset compensation before resuming cutting operations.
