The VALUE COLLECTION ICC83700B is a solid carbide turning insert designed for use on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built to ANSI insert code TFG321 and ISO insert code TFG160304, this uncoated triangular insert features a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/8-inch insert thickness, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. The grade I22 carbide substrate provides rigidity and wear resistance suited to light-to-medium turning operations. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert into compatible toolholders using a clamp-style holding method. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a practical choice when coatings would introduce undesirable edge geometry or thermal properties for the target workpiece.
This insert is intended for turning applications involving cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to ISO workpiece material codes K, M, N, and S. The positive side clearance and 25-degree relief angle reduce cutting forces and improve chip evacuation on finish and semi-finish passes. It fits standard TFG-style clamp toolholders accepting a triangular insert with a 321 ANSI size code. Individual inserts are packaged in a quantity of 1 and are subject to a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in TFG-style clamp toolholders accepting ANSI size code 321 triangular turning inserts. Suitable for workpiece materials corresponding to ISO codes K, M, N, and S, including cast iron, non-ferrous, non-metallic, and heat-resistant alloys.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC technician using the appropriate clamp screw and torx or hex key for the toolholder manufacturer's clamp hardware. The machine spindle must be stopped and the toolholder secured before seating or replacing the insert. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or burrs before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating against the tolerance code G seating surfaces. Dispose of worn inserts per your facility's carbide recycling or sharps policy.
