The VALUE COLLECTION ICC24900C is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured to ANSI insert code SNMA322 and ISO insert code SNMA090308, this insert features a 90-degree square shape with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The bright, uncoated carbide construction makes it well suited for applications where coating is undesirable or where re-grinding is required. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators as a replaceable cutting edge in indexable toolholders.
This insert is used in turning applications involving a range of workpiece materials including cast iron, steel, non-ferrous metals, and heat-resistant alloys, as reflected in its primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, and S. The flat-top chip breaker geometry and negative side clearance are typical of roughing and general-purpose turning setups. It fits toolholders designed for SNMA-style inserts with clamp and pin holding methods, making it a common choice in production and job-shop turning environments.
Designed for use in indexable toolholders accepting SNMA-style inserts with clamp and pin holding. Compatible with workpiece material categories K, M, N, and S per ISO designation.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC operators. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing any cutting insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and locating pin for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper edge alignment.
