The VALUE COLLECTION ICC21030B is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert designed for use on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Conforming to ANSI Insert Code TPGH322 and ISO Insert Code TPGH160308, this insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with an 11-degree relief angle and a positive side clearance. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inches (0.3750 inches), insert thickness is 1/8 inches (0.1250 inches), and the corner radius is 1/32 inches (0.0313 inches). The bright, uncoated carbide construction suits applications where coating buildup or heat-sensitive workpiece materials are a concern. Machinists and toolroom technicians select this style for precision external and internal turning operations.
This insert is suited for turning non-ferrous metals, cast iron, wood, and certain plastics, reflecting its primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, and S. The TPGH style with positive geometry and screw-holding method makes it a practical choice for finishing and light roughing passes on both manual and CNC turning equipment. Material grade C2 positions it for general-purpose carbide cutting in job shop and production environments. The chip breaker designation H is integrated into the insert geometry to assist with chip control during turning operations.
Designed for use in TPGH-style screw-clamp turning tool holders that accept ANSI TPGH322 or ISO TPGH160308 inserts with a 0.1770-inch hole diameter. Compatible with workpiece materials designated under primary codes K, M, N, and S.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and secure with the clamping screw to the tool holder manufacturer's specified torque range using a calibrated torque driver. Inspect the insert pocket and shim for damage or chips before seating a new insert, as debris under the insert can cause premature edge failure or poor surface finish.
