The VALUE COLLECTION GH8815292 is a 3-flute interchangeable pilot counterbore designed for precision counter-boring operations in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from cobalt steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers the heat resistance and hardness needed for cutting through tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The counterbore measures 29/64 inches in diameter with a 7/16-inch straight shank, a shank length of 3-1/16 inches, and an overall length of 4-5/16 inches. Right-hand cutting geometry and the 3-flute configuration support clean, accurate seating surfaces for socket-head cap screws and similar fasteners. Machinists and toolmakers working with drill presses, mills, and CNC machines are the primary users of this tool.
This counterbore is suited for use in production machining, job-shop environments, and maintenance repair operations where consistent counterbore diameter and depth are required. The interchangeable pilot design accepts a 3/16-inch pilot shank, allowing the tool to guide precisely into a pre-drilled hole before engaging the counterbore cutting edges. This style is commonly used when producing bolt-clearance or fastener-seat bores in steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar structural materials. The straight shank is compatible with standard drill chuck and collet-style toolholding systems found on bench drill presses and vertical milling machines.
Designed as an OEM-style interchangeable pilot counterbore compatible with standard straight-shank toolholding systems that accept a 7/16-inch shank diameter. Pilot shank compatibility is 3/16 inches.
Installation and use of this counterbore should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolmaker. Secure the 7/16-inch straight shank in a properly sized drill chuck or collet before operation, and verify that the pilot shank is fully seated before engaging the workpiece. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing pilots or removing the tool from the holder. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish quality.
