The VALUE COLLECTION GH8790586 is a 3-flute interchangeable pilot counterbore designed for precision enlarging and finishing of bolt-seat recesses in metal workpieces. Built from high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool accepts an interchangeable pilot and is sized at 29/32 inch cutting diameter with a 3/4 inch straight shank. The 6-1/8 inch overall length and 4-5/8 inch shank length provide reach and rigidity in standard machining setups. Right-hand cutting geometry suits the majority of vertical and horizontal milling and drill-press applications common in production and maintenance machining environments.
This counterbore is suited for machine shops, maintenance facilities, and toolrooms requiring accurate bolt-hole counterboring in steel, aluminum, and similar metals. The interchangeable pilot design allows the same body to be used across multiple hole diameters by swapping pilots, reducing tooling inventory. The 1/4 inch pilot shank compatibility governs pilot selection for this tool. It is appropriate for use in manual drill presses, knee mills, and CNC setups where a straight-shank holder or drill chuck is in use.
Designed for use with interchangeable pilots having a 1/4 inch shank diameter. Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and tool holders accepting a 3/4 inch shank. Suitable for general-purpose counterboring applications in ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotating cutting tools and machine tool operation. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized chuck or tool holder before operation, and verify the interchangeable pilot is fully seated and locked before cutting. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing pilots or removing the tool. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
