The VALUE COLLECTION GBS7060 is a silicon carbide abrasive blasting media packaged in a 50-pound box. Silicon carbide is one of the hardest blasting media materials available, making it effective for aggressive surface preparation on metals, glass, ceramics, and composites. This media is graded at 220 grit, placing it in the fine range for applications that require a smooth surface profile without heavy material removal. The angular particle shape concentrates energy at the cutting edge, producing consistent surface profiles and fast cutting action. Abrasive blasting professionals, metal fabricators, and surface finishing shops are the primary users.
This media is suited for both portable and cabinet-style blasting equipment used in industrial, commercial, and shop environments. At 220 grit, it is commonly used for light deburring, matte finishing, and surface prep before coating or plating operations where a fine anchor profile is required. It is also used in lapidary work, tool sharpening, and specialty finishing on hard substrates where softer media would not cut effectively.
Designed for use in standard abrasive blasting cabinets and pressure blasting systems configured for fine-grit silicon carbide media.
Blasting media handling and operation should be performed by qualified personnel following applicable OSHA respiratory and PPE requirements for abrasive blasting operations. Always verify that blasting equipment nozzle size and pressure settings are compatible with fine-grit media before introducing product to the system. Use an appropriate dust collection and containment setup to manage silica and fine particulate hazards. Inspect blasting cabinet seals and gloves before each use to prevent media escape.
