The VALUE COLLECTION G-BUS2015 is a malleable iron threaded pipe bushing designed to reduce a 2-inch female threaded port down to a 1-1/2-inch male threaded connection. Rated for 300 psi on liquid and gas service and 150 psi on steam, this Class 150 fitting carries a galvanized finish that resists corrosion in exposed or damp installations. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors use hex bushings like this one to adapt pipe diameters within a run without cutting into the main line. The malleable iron construction provides the ductility needed to handle vibration and minor mechanical stress that would crack cast iron fittings.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial piping systems carrying water, gas, steam, or compatible process liquids within its rated pressures. Typical install scenarios include boiler supply and return piping, natural gas distribution headers, compressed air drops, and general plumbing rough-in work where a threaded size reduction is needed inline or at a valve, gauge, or appliance connection point. The galvanized finish makes it appropriate for above-ground installations where bare iron would be exposed to moisture.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for standard NPT threaded malleable iron pipe systems requiring a 2-inch to 1-1/2-inch diameter reduction.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local mechanical and plumbing codes, including IPC and IFGC requirements for threaded pipe joints. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before disassembling or modifying any threaded connection. Apply an appropriate pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service medium before threading the bushing into the fitting. Do not over-tighten; use a pipe wrench on the hex to achieve a leak-free joint without damaging the threads.
