The VALUE COLLECTION FHS1X1680 is a metric flat socket cap screw engineered for flush or countersunk fastening applications. It features a 90-degree flat head driven by a 10 mm hex socket and is manufactured from 18-8 austenitic Grade A2 stainless steel, providing solid corrosion resistance in wet, chemical, or outdoor environments. The screw has an M16x2 thread size with an 80 mm overall length and is partially threaded, conforming to DIN 7991 standards. Licensed tradespeople in mechanical, structural, and industrial assembly work will encounter this fastener wherever a recessed head profile and stainless material are specified together.
This flat socket cap screw is suited for metric fastening in general industrial, marine, food processing, and architectural applications where a flush surface finish is required. The partial threading provides stronger clamping force across thicker material joints. It is appropriate for use in equipment assembly, fixture mounting, and structural panels where M16 metric fasteners are called out in design specifications. Sold individually, it is compatible with standard M16x2 tapped holes per metric thread standards.
Designed for use in any application requiring a DIN 7991 flat socket cap screw with M16x2 metric threading and a countersunk hole sized for a 90-degree flat head profile.
Installation requires a properly countersunk pilot hole sized for a 90-degree flat head M16 screw; use a correctly sized countersink bit before driving the fastener. A calibrated torque wrench with an appropriate hex socket bit is recommended to achieve the specified clamp load without overdriving. Power down or de-energize any adjacent electrical equipment before working in confined or energized assemblies. Do not mix stainless steel fasteners with dissimilar metals in environments where galvanic corrosion is a concern without appropriate isolation measures.
