The VALUE COLLECTION FAC1090CO is a cobalt face angle cutter designed for precision chamfering, countersinking, and angular milling operations on metal workpieces. Built from cobalt high-speed steel, this cutter handles harder materials and higher cutting temperatures than standard HSS tooling. It features a 90-degree included angle, a 1-1/4 inch large diameter, a 1/2 inch small diameter, and a 17/32 inch width of cut. The uncoated cobalt construction provides consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. A Weldon flat on the shank ensures positive drive and prevents slippage under load. This cutter is installed by machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance machinists working on manual or CNC milling equipment.
The FAC1090CO is suited for angular face milling operations where a 90-degree included angle is required. Typical applications include chamfering bolt holes, creating countersunk seat angles, and deburring or beveling edges on steel, cast iron, and similar metals. The 5/8 inch shank diameter fits standard milling machine collets and end mill holders equipped for that shank size. At 2-13/32 inches overall length, it is compact enough for close-tolerance setups while providing adequate reach for most face milling work. The Weldon flat design is standard for side-lock toolholders commonly used in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in standard milling machines and machining centers accepting a 5/8 inch shank with a Weldon flat side-lock toolholder.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist. Secure the cutter in a side-lock end mill holder or collet rated for the 5/8 inch shank diameter, engaging the set screw against the Weldon flat for positive retention. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the cutter. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain surface finish quality.
