The VALUE COLLECTION DTKPBI0-80300P-200BX is a coarse-thread drywall screw designed for fastening drywall panels to wood or light-gauge steel framing. At 3 inches in overall length with a Number 8 shank, this screw is sized for attaching 5/8-inch or double-layer drywall assemblies. The bugle head profile distributes load evenly across the panel face and countersinks cleanly without tearing the paper facing. A black phosphate finish provides corrosion resistance during installation and helps the screw hold joint compound without telegraphing rust staining. Material is Grade 2 steel. Each box contains 200 screws, providing enough fasteners for a standard residential drywall application.
This screw is used in residential and light commercial drywall installation. Typical applications include hanging 5/8-inch Type X fire-rated panels, double-layer assemblies on ceilings, and single-layer wall applications where extra penetration depth into the stud is required. The Phillips drive is compatible with standard drywall screw guns and variable-speed drills fitted with a dimpler bit. Drywall hangers, general contractors, and finish carpenters commonly specify this fastener length for framing members up to 2 inches nominal thickness.
Designed as a standard Number 8 coarse-thread bugle-head drywall screw suitable for fastening gypsum panels to wood framing and light-gauge steel studs in residential and light commercial construction.
Installation is performed by drywall hangers and general construction tradespeople. Use a drywall screw gun or variable-speed drill with a dimpler depth-setting attachment to achieve consistent countersink depth without overdriving. Drive the screw until the head is just below the panel surface without breaking the paper facing. Follow applicable building codes for fastener spacing, which typically require screws no more than 16 inches on center for walls and 12 inches on center for ceilings.
