The VALUE COLLECTION DTKPBI0-80262P-200BX is a No. 8 coarse-thread drywall screw designed for fastening drywall panels to wood or light-gauge steel framing. The bugle head profile seats flush with the drywall face without tearing the paper, while the black phosphate finish provides corrosion resistance in typical interior applications. Each screw measures 2-5/8 inches in overall length and is driven with a No. 2 Phillips bit. Manufactured from Grade 2 steel, these screws offer the hardness and thread geometry needed to penetrate gypsum board and bite into framing without pre-drilling. This box contains 200 screws.
These screws are suited for residential and light commercial drywall installation, including hanging single-layer or double-layer 1/2-inch and 5/8-inch gypsum board to wood studs. The 2-5/8-inch length makes them a common choice for two-layer assemblies or attaching thick panel stock where standard 1-5/8-inch screws fall short. Drywall finishers and general contractors keep this size on hand for ceiling and wall applications where extra thread engagement is required. Each package contains 200 screws, making it practical for medium-volume jobs.
Designed as a standard replacement or supply fastener for drywall installation into wood framing, compatible with conventional Phillips-drive drywall screw guns and dimpler attachments used in residential and light commercial construction.
Installation is performed by drywall hangers and general carpenters using a variable-speed screw gun or drill fitted with a No. 2 Phillips drywall dimpler bit. Drive screws to the proper dimple depth — the head should sit just below the drywall surface without breaking through the paper facing. Space fasteners per applicable building code requirements, typically following ASTM C840 or local jurisdiction standards for field and edge spacing. Avoid overdriving, which weakens the fastener hold and requires patching before finishing.
