The VALUE COLLECTION DN7X01800 is a stainless steel acorn nut designed for M18x2.5 metric coarse threaded fastener applications. Also called a cap nut or dome nut, the acorn nut encloses the exposed end of a bolt or stud, protecting the thread from corrosion, contamination, and contact damage while providing a finished appearance. Made from A2 austenitic stainless steel conforming to DIN 1587, this nut delivers reliable corrosion resistance in demanding environments. It measures 27mm width across flats and 30mm overall height. Right-hand thread direction follows standard metric convention. Plumbers, HVAC mechanics, electricians, and general tradespeople use this hardware in panel assemblies, equipment enclosures, and piping support structures.
This acorn nut is suited for residential and commercial maintenance, repair, and fabrication work wherever a capped metric fastener end is required. The DIN 1587 standard ensures dimensional consistency for interchangeability across metric assemblies. The uncoated A2 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for mildly corrosive environments, outdoor installations, and applications where zinc-plated hardware is inadequate. It is sold individually, making it practical for single-fastener replacement or small-quantity maintenance jobs without requiring purchase of a full kit or assortment.
Designed as a DIN 1587-compliant acorn nut for use with M18x2.5 metric coarse threaded bolts and studs in standard metric fastener assemblies.
Install with an appropriate 27mm metric wrench or socket. Stainless steel fasteners are susceptible to galling during installation — apply an anti-seize compound to the threads before assembly to reduce this risk. Do not use an impact driver at high torque settings, as galling can cause permanent thread seizure. Follow applicable mechanical codes and equipment manufacturer torque guidelines for the specific assembly.
