The VALUE COLLECTION DKPBI0-80250DAC-100B is a No. 8 carbon steel drywall screw with a bugle head and Phillips drive, finished in Dacromet for corrosion resistance. At 2.5 inches in length, it is sized for attaching drywall panels to wood or light-gauge steel framing. The bugle head profile seats flush without tearing the drywall paper face. The Dacromet finish provides a zinc-free corrosion barrier suited for interior and certain treated-framing applications. These fasteners are sold in minimum quantities of 100 and are a staple for drywall hangers, finish carpenters, and general contractors working on residential and light commercial builds.
This screw is appropriate for single-layer and double-layer drywall installations where a 2.5-inch penetration depth is required. Typical applications include attaching 5/8-inch or double-layer 1/2-inch board to wood studs, as well as use in assemblies where corrosion resistance from the Dacromet finish adds longevity. The No. 8 thread diameter provides solid holding power in standard wood framing without requiring pre-drilling in most cases.
Designed as a standard drywall fastener for use with wood or light-gauge steel framing in residential and light commercial drywall installations.
Drywall screws are driven by drywall screw guns or variable-speed drills fitted with a dimpler attachment to control drive depth. Drive the screw until the bugle head creates a slight dimple in the drywall face without breaking the paper. Follow local building codes and gypsum board manufacturer spacing requirements, typically 12 to 16 inches on center for field fasteners. Do not overdrive, as this compromises holding strength and requires patching.
