The VALUE COLLECTION CS2160100 is a single-end cobalt steel countersink designed for creating flat-bottomed conical recesses in metal and other hard materials. With a 1 inch head diameter and an 82-degree included angle, it produces consistent seat geometry for flathead fasteners. The 6-flute design distributes cutting load evenly, reducing chatter and extending tool life compared to fewer-flute designs. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.5 inches in diameter, fitting standard drill press and CNC collet chucks. It arrives with a bright, uncoated finish and is suited for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working in production or job-shop environments.
This countersink is used in metalworking and general fabrication applications where 82-degree flathead screw seats are required. It is compatible with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and the cobalt steel construction provides added heat resistance for drilling harder alloys. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard 0.5 inch collets and drill chucks without an adapter. Typical applications include countersinking pre-drilled holes in steel plate, aluminum extrusions, and structural components prior to flathead fastener installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use countersink for metalworking operations requiring an 82-degree included angle and a 0.5 inch straight-cylindrical shank in standard drill press, mill, or CNC collet setups.
A licensed machinist or qualified fabricator should install this tool in a drill press, milling machine, or CNC spindle using a properly sized collet or chuck. Power down and lock out the machine before inserting or removing the tool. Use cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Do not exceed the spindle speed recommended for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
